If you are new to the Omaha Ne area you may have some pre-concieved thoughts about how to search for for Omaha Real Estate .

As a Omaha Real Estate expert in Omaha for ten years I have found the best way to Search for Omaha Real Estate is to break it down into School Searches. The quickest way for me to search for a client is to determine what area of town and matching that area with the School District.

So if you told me you wanted a certain city I would search by school district first. Here are the common school districts in and around Omaha NE.

• Bellevue Schools
• Papillion/LaVista Schools
• Gretna Schools
• Millard Schools
• Elkhorn Schools
• Bennington Schools
• Omaha Schools
• Ralston School District

This helps when a client may tell me they want to live in Millard. Well I will assure you if you search for Millard Nebraska you will not find many homes. Although if you search for Millard Schools you will find what you were looking for.

Also, just a short couple of years ago Elkhorn Ne was annexed by Omaha so that too can be difficult if you search Omaha Homes or Omaha Real Estate you will in fact get homes in your preferred Elkhorn area but I find it much faster just to search by the school district.

It does get a little tricky around the South Omaha area or North Bellevue area for example; If you are looking for Bellevue Schools and say you were driving around 36th and HWY 370 in the Golden Hills area that neighborhood is Papillion/LaVista School District.

So part of my discovery is asking buyers when they say they want to live in Bellevue Ne what is the purpose and do you want Bellevue schools or just the Bellevue area. Just something to keep in mind when you try to decipher home searching in and around the Omaha metro area.
